One Week in Taipei
We spent a week in Taipei, staying at the W in the Xinyi district. We had lots of good food and tea, saw the guard change at the National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine, and visited the National Taiwan Museum and National Palace Museum.

Leaving Venice
We got up early at the Hyatt Centric and took a vaporetto to VCE, checked in, and went to the mediocre Marco Polo Lounge. We were in the air on a United 767-300 at around 10am for the flight back to IAD.

Murano Glass and the San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice
After waking up at the Hyatt Centric, we visited the Murano Glass Museum as well as a modern glass factory and some shops where we bought some glassware. After lunch, we took a vaporetto to San Giorgio Maggiore to visit the church and bell tower. We returned to Venice for dinner and to walk through the city one final time.

Saint Mark’s Basilica, Museo Correr, and the Canals of Venice
After waking up at the Hyatt Centric, we took a vaporetto to Venice‘s San Marco to visit the Museo Correr, followed by the Basilica di San Marco after lunch. We returned to the hotel via the Grand Canal to end the day.

Venice and the Doge’s Palace
After breakfast, we checked out of the Excelsior Hotel Gallia and traveled to Venice. After dropping off our bags at the Hyatt Centric, we took a vaporetto via the east side of Venice and visited the Doge’s Palace before walking around the city and having dinner and gelato.

Lugano and the Two Mountains
After breakfast at the Hampton Locarno, we headed over to Lugano where we visited two mountains, Monte Brè and Monte San Salvatore. We spent most of the day there, returning to Locarno in the evening for dinner and a walk around town.
