After waking up a the Apollo Hotel in Amsterdam and having breakfast, we walked around a bit before taking the train to Utrecht where we spent most of the day. We walked around the city’s unique canals, had lunch, and visited St. Martin’s Cathedral before returning to Amsterdam for dinner.

After waking up at the Apollo Hotel, we had breakfast in the restaurant and headed via train to Rotterdam and boat to Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring historic Dutch windmills. After, we returned to Rotterdam where we saw the city’s unique cube houses and had dinner at the Market Hall.

After waking up at the Apollo Hotel and having breakfast, we took the train to Den Bosch. Once there, we took a canal tour and visited a museum dedicated to local painter Jheronimus Bosch. We followed up with a quick visit to St. John’s Cathedral before meeting up with a friend.

After arriving at AMS, we headed to the Apollo Hotel to check in. We then headed into historic central Amsterdam where we visited the Royal Palace, followed by the New Church, Old Church, and Basilica of Saint Nicholas. We also spent time walking by the city’s canals, had some Dutch snacks, and had a seafood dinner.

After leaving Martinsburg, WV in the morning, we visited the C&O Canal’s Cushwa Basin at Williamsport, MD. After a brief stroll, we checked out the visitor center and then drove 25 minutes upriver to Fort Frederick State Park. We caught the end of a musket firing demonstration, listened to some rangers talk, and walked through the fort’s historical buildings.
