We visited Washington, DC in the morning today to see the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin. It was, unfortunately, well past peak bloom.

We enjoyed breakfast and our in-room onsen at the アマネリゾート ガハマ Amane Resort Gahama before visiting nearby Oita in the afternoon. We didn’t do much, mainly visited AMU Plaza and its rooftop garden as well as the pop-up Super Mario x JR Kyushu shop, before returning to Beppu for an early dinner. And more onsen time, of course!

We enjoyed the onsen and had breakfast before leaving the ゆのひら上柳屋 Yunohira Kamiyanagiya and taking the train over to 別府 Beppu. We visited this onsen city’s famous 地獄 jigoku and checked in to the アマネリゾート ガハマ Amane Resort Gahama. In the evening, we relaxed in our room and enjoyed the in-room private onsen.

After waking up at the ゆのひら上柳屋 Yunohira Kamiyanagiya, we went to the onsen before breakfast. We then spent the day in 湯布院 Yufuin where we had lunch and walked around the town, enjoying scenery, 金鱗湖 Kinrinko, and a few snacks. After returning to 湯平 Yunohira, we again enjoyed the onsen before dinner.

After waking up at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka, we walked around the Tenjin neighborhood for a bit and had a mentaiko lunch. We then checked out and took the JR Kyushu limited express Yufu over to Yunohira, a small rural onsen village in northeastern Kyushu near Beppu and Yufuin. Upon arrival, we checked in to the ゆのひら上柳屋 Yunohira Kamiyanagiya, a seven room onsen ryokan, and went out to explore the village before returning to enjoy the ryokan’s dinner and onsen.
