After a nice breakfast at the Luxembourg Marriott Hotel Alfa, we took the train over to Trier, the oldest city in Germany. Starting at the ancient Porta Nigra, we saw the Kirche St. Gangolf, Trierer Dom, and Konstantin Basilika churches. After lunch, we toured the ancient Roman Kaiserthermen, Amphitheater, Barbarathermen, and Thermen am Viehmarkt. We ended the visit with döner before returning to Luxembourg in the evening.

We returned to Munich from Innsbruck yesterday night, having spent five nights there. After breakfast this morning at the Le Meridien in Munch, we took the S-Bahn to the airport for our flight on United back to the US. We arrived just in time for rush hour traffic.

After breakfast at the AC Hotel, we checked out, left our bags at the train station, and took a bus down to Stubaier Gletscher. We visited the Top of Tyrol before descending and returning to Innsbruck. After lunch, we returned to Munich by train and bus and checked into the Le Méridien.

After flying from IAD to MUC on United, we took the OBB train to Innsbruck, dropped off our bags at the AC Hotel, and traveled to the Nordkette via funicular and aerial tram. After spending some time at the top, we had dinner and walked around the city a bit before returning the hotel.

For our last full day in Munich, we had breakfast as usual at the Le Méridien and then traveled to Hohenschwangau to visit Schloss Neuschwanstein, the most famous castle in Germany and the basis for Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle.
